So, my blogging journey begins on a very special day in Australia: Mother’s Day.
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers! =)
Also, for soon-to-be mothers, be prepared for something wonderful: bringing a new life into the world, raising him/her (i.e. your child) to be a great person in the future.
Mother’s Day in my country Indonesia falls on December 22th. Other countries celebrate this special day on different dates. Nevertheless, it still refers to the day to give honor to a person and her tremendous role which can never be done fully by men (well, most of men, like me =b).
I still remember writing a poem on a card with some drawings on it on every Mother’s Day when I was at primary school (I do have a talent in literature you know, =b).
I have never done it again for so many years now. Probably because I am too “old” to be doing such a “childish activity”.
However, I realized that in the end I am still and will always be a child to her; in a good sense anyway.
My mother is a friend, a sister and of course a mother. Being the only child, there is no other people but my parents to be close too with. My favorite one is (not to put a disrespect to you, Dad) my mother.
She is a very strict woman. I would always get disciplinary action from her when I was little for being naughty, not studying diligently and many other (negative) things.
Despite her strict attitude, she is also a warm and loving person. She has taught me many things, even until now, from the smallest to the most superb things.
Without her help, I could not be able to be the better person I am now (still in endless progress though).
I believe that I am not the only person who feels this way, who gains much from a mother.
As I was walking this morning, I saw many people, young and old, bringing flowers. They were all smiling cheerfully as though they were going for their first date. It was a very pleasant view, especially with this generation who needs more smiles and love.
I am wondering now what I should give to my mother. It is already late at night here though.
Probably, the only thing I can do is to write this blog and share my happiness of being her son to all of you.
